What a weekend!! Originally I was traveling from Vernon to Vancouver to attend the BC Child Run, but I thought maybe I could do something else while I was in Vancouver. Luckily I was able to arrange our visit to RMH on Saturday evening, and then I did the Child Run. Then on Sunday May 31st after the Child Run, I was part of the CP Rail team who presented a cheque at the Miracle Weekend Telethon. CPR donated 21006.98 plus they were matching donations for an hour.
My family has a long history with CPR (fourth generation) and I was asked if I would like to be a part of the presentation, and I eagerly accepted. The train that we were standing in front of is called The Little General and has a tractor inside of the frontend engine so it can pull kids around in it.
It was fun to see some of the kids I had met at RMH and the different local celebrities. What an interesting experience to see what goes on behind the scenes. It was really well organized and everything ran very smoothly. The atmosphere was very much like a party and people were having a good time. This year was record breaking with $18,804,361.00 being raised. All the money raised goes into supporting Children’s Hospital.
Below is a video of my whole weekend!👑
