Posing with the Loco Landing sign

Chatting with some little kids

The hunt is on

Chearing on a little girl in the Egg Roll

On Monday I participated in the fifth annual Loco Landing Easter egg hunt. This is one of the biggest Easter egg hunts in the Okanagan! They had an estimated fifteen hundred people come through the gates!! All proceeds at this event went to OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre. There were volunteers from several places such as, Scottsdale Concrete, Valley First, Investors Group, Moments Under Frame Photography, Andy’s Animal Acres, SS Sicamous Heritage Park, Bricks4Kidz – Southern Interior of BC Canada, Downtown Penticton, JEDI Urban Dance Studio, Marketplace IGA Penticton, Tony’s Meats & Deli, Cheeky Chops, Morpheus Graphics, Starbucks and more. The event raised over seven thousand dollars. There were several activities for the children to participate in, such as Egg roll races, Easter bunny visit and of course an Easter egg hunts. The park had “local celebrities” arrive early and then they were announced on stage. It was cool to be called a celebrity along with the firefighters, the mayor, and many others. I got to walk around with the Easter bunny for a while meeting all the little kids, some kids would scream in fear of the Easter bunny, and others would go up and hug us. Then after hanging out with the Easter bunny I was asked to help the very little kids with the Easter egg hunt. I would get to pick one “super star” who would then allow me to help them hunt. The kids were so happy to have me help them out. Helping the little kids out was so much fun and filled me with joy, seeing how happy they were. 🙂 Then I got to compete in the Celebrity egg roll match with the Easter bunny, two firefighters, the mayor and a five year old girl. A group from to OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre came and then they got to do the race too. On the other side of the park there was a petting zoo with real white bunnies and baby chicks, there was a Lego fun zone, and a second eater egg hunt on the deck of the old paddle wheel boat. While walking around the park several little kids came up to me just to say hello and to have their picture taken with me. I got to meet the local Princess Miss Penticton, and I got to be on the news! It was a great day that could not have gone better. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported to OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre
