Having a blast in the parade

On Sunday May 17, I was in the Rutland/Kelowna May Day parade! First off I want to shout out a huge thank you to Ron Lassard and Orchard Park Ford, for supplying me with a beautiful brand new red Ford Mustang convertible, and Ron for driving me. In this parade there were only two royalties, Lady of the Lake, and me! It was so much fun to meet the Lady of the Lake and her Princess. When the parade began children immediately started calling “It’s a princess”, and waving , which I thought was so cute.

The second we turned the first corner I thought to myself “wow” I could not believe how many people lined the streets watching the parade. Children lined the streets on either side of the road with bags or upside down hats in their hands to collect candy in that many people in the parade were giving out. Shaw news was there live feeding all the action directly people in the parade were giving out. Shaw news was there live feeding all the action directly online! After the Parade (which was so much fun!!) I helped out with the YMCA, one of the Local Preschools, Telus, and two amazing clowns. These clowns were truly remarkable, they made balloons animals/creatures that I have never seen before such as Batman, monkeys and flower bracelets. I want to extend a huge thank you to Rutland Park Society for having me in the parade and at their event!! I hope your May Day was as good as mine.
