On June the 27th, I attended Westside Daze in West Kelowna! On the hottest day in the Okanagan to date, it was a whopping 45 degrees Celsius!! This event had everything from fair rides, to games, to live entertainment. I was pleased to meet one of the West Side ambassadors. While there I loved watching the little kids on the Mary Go Round cars, they loved to honk the car horns at me to get my attention. After walking around the fair grounds for a little while I went off to the other side of the fair, the entertainment part. It was cool to sit down and watch the local First Nations group preform traditional dancing as well as singing. Being someone who really enjoys music of all sorts I really loved watching this. All of the handmade costumes were so fantastic.
After the dances were done I was on my way to the mist tent to cool down, when a little girl, not even a year old, Pointed at me and giggled. It was so cute so I stopped to say Hi and have a photo with her, and her face when we took the picture was priceless!! As I was leaving the park to go home I stopped to look at all of the amazing venders, there were bake sales, balloons (what’s a fair with out balloons?) and the coolest thing was an amazing artist who painted everything from cars to feathers. YES FEATHERS. It was so cool to see this, and it was something I have never seen before. Then Panago Pizza was nice enough to give me free pizza. Thank you Panago it was great and they were flavors that I would never had thought to try out. Westside Daze is truly a event that I would attend again. 👑
